According to a Sindh government spokesperson, the 40 percent Gul Plaza fire has been contained.

A spokesperson for the Sindh government stated that 40% of the fire at Gul Plaza has been contained, but he cautioned political parties against politicising the sad event.
According to Sindh government spokesman Saadia Javed, personnel from the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC), the Pakistan Navy, and federal institutions are all actively participating in firefighting operations. Rescue efforts are being slowed down, she continued, since firefighters are having trouble getting into the plaza.
She verified that the fire had killed five individuals and injured twenty more. According to her, putting out the fire as quickly as possible is the first responsibility.
Saadia Javed claims that because of the presence of chemicals, fabric, and plastic items inside the plaza, the fire has been categorised as a third-degree fire. To contain the fire, rescue crews, firefighters, and federal and provincial organisations are working nonstop.
She stated that three hydrants are currently providing water, and rescue workers have reported that 40% of the fire has been contained thus far. Water tankers must approach from a distance due to the ongoing Green Line construction on MA Jinnah Road.
Only two of the plaza’s seven exits were open at the time of the incident, the spokeswoman added. She warned that anyone found to be careless would face severe consequences.
PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari personally addressed the Sindh Chief Minister and gave directives on the matter, Saadia Javed continued. Accusing MNA Munam Zafar of politicising every subject, she emphasised that tragedies shouldn’t be politicised.
