After Imran Khan’s family was refused a jail meeting, Afridi calls on Maryam to intervene.

Sohail Afridi, the chief minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, has formally written to Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the chief minister of Punjab, over the denial of a meeting between the family members of PTI founder Imran Khan, who is presently being held in Adiala Jail, in contravention of court orders.

In his letter, Afridi voiced his grave concerns about the maltreatment of the PTI founder’s sisters and their relatives, as well as the denial of the meeting.

The letter added that the sisters and their family were not permitted to meet the PTI founder despite a clear court order.

In addition, Afridi called the practice of forcing elderly women to sit a kilometer from the jail “inhuman, unethical, and a direct violation of court orders.”

Additionally, he called for action against those who mistreated the sisters of the PTI founder.

He asked the chief minister of Punjab to provide police and jail officials explicit directives about upcoming visits.

Additionally, he demanded that meetings in Adiala Jail be conducted in a respectable and legal manner.

Afridi underlined that the founder of the PTI is the head of his party, which has a mandate in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and a former prime minister of Pakistan. Any infringement on his fundamental rights would therefore be intolerable.
