Ali Amin Gandapur sends the governor a letter resigning from his position as K-P CM.

Speaking about the province’s worsening security, Raja claimed that K-P was dealing with “the worst wave of terrorism” in recent memory.
He quoted Imran as saying that he was deeply saddened by the latest Orakzai assault and remarked, “This year has seen many incidents of terrorism which claimed precious lives and that is a matter of high concern.” “Imran Khan stated that replacing the K-P chief minister is the only option at this time.”
Gandapur resigned from his post upon Raja’s confirmation. He then removed the resignation post from his social media pages, though.
After the founder’s choice, he had blogged about resigning. The post was removed following discussions at K-P House with Barrister Saif, Barrister Gohar, and Mushal Yousafzai.
“The chief ministership was a trust from the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf,” Gandapur stated in his post. I am giving that trust back to him and resigning in compliance with his directives. Then,
The eviction of Gandapur has nothing to do with the Aleema Khan controversy.
PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar has denied reports of factionalism inside the party and made it clear that Aleema Khan was unrelated to Ali Amin Gandapur’s dismissal.
Barrister Gohar emphasized that Imran Khan was the one who decided to alter the provincial leadership during a press conference held outside K-P House in Islamabad. “Any major changes in government or leadership within the party were implemented in accordance with Khan’s direction,” he said.
According to Gohar, “the PTI founder made the decision today, and any changes within the province or any significant action will occur based on his directives.” “Imran Khan has explicitly instructed that the party chairman must approve all decisions.”
Gohar added that any resignation from the chief minister must be submitted to the governor in accordance with Article 130(8) of the Constitution, and that he was not authorized to accept or reject any resignations. He further emphasized that any leadership transition would be implemented in compliance with the constitution.
“Any change should be in line with constitutional obligations, as Imran Khan has stated,” Gohar stated. He affirmed that he was directly in charge of all leadership transition-related procedures and that Khan would provide his approval for every move.
He continued, “Khan has always emphasized that decisions should be made with full consultation and implemented accordingly, even though there are occasionally flaws in political processes and criticism arises.”
Gohar went on to say that all party members shared Khan’s vision, guaranteeing discipline and decision-following within PTI. “The PTI does not have a forward block. We will continue to support the new leadership, since all PTI employees have come from the bottom up,” Gohar stated.
He affirmed that the party will fully support Sohail Afridi as the next K-P chief minister. Gohar declared, “Ali Amin Gandapur was instrumental and his contributions will never be forgotten.” “Imran Khan’s sisters have no place in politics, and the PTI is united under its founder’s leadership.”
PTI internal divisions
The move puts an end to months of internal PTI strife, especially between Gandapur and Aleema Khan. According to party insiders, the rivalry had gotten so bad that it was threatening the K-P government’s discipline.
Aleema said in recent weeks that Gandapur had told Imran Khan that she was trying to “hijack the PTI” with the help of the establishment. The chief minister denied this, claiming that a movement was underway to name her the party’s next chairwoman.
Fractures in PTI’s provincial leadership have been brought to light by the disagreement and tensions surrounding the June adoption of the K-P budget. Senior officials, such as Raja and former finance minister Taimur Saleem Jhagra, criticized Gandapur for rushing the budget through without consulting Imran Khan for final approval. He later justified this as a vital step to avert governor’s control.
According to PTI sources, the leadership is currently getting ready for the official chief ministerial transfer process, which would start following talks with Khan inside Adiala Jail.
Sohail Afridi is who?
Sohail Afridi, the PTI’s nominee for K-P chief minister, is a new member of the provincial parliament from PK-70 and is originally from Khyber district. Afridi’s appointment as Khyber district’s first chief minister will represent a major political turning point for the area since its union with K-P.
For a long time, Afridi was seen as a serious candidate for the position. His nomination is viewed as a component of PTI’s larger initiatives to improve representation from the former Federally Administered Tribal Areas and bring its provincial ranks back together.
In the most recent cabinet reshuffle, Afridi was named Provincial Minister for Higher Education after previously serving as the Chief Minister’s Special Assistant on Communication and Works.
Afridi, a longtime PTI supporter, was the head of the K-P branch of the Insaf Students Federation for a number of years. He is a businessman by trade and has a bachelor’s degree in economics.
In the most recent general elections, Afridi defeated Bilawal Afridi of the PML-N, Hameedullah Jan Afridi of the JUI-F, and other contenders by a significant margin from PK-70.
