Amid range-bound trading activity, the PSX gains more than 300 points.

Despite cautious investor activity, the Pakistan Stock Exchange saw minor increases on Wednesday.

The KSE-100 index increased by 316.95 points during intraday trading to settle at 171,390.68 points, a 0.19 percent increase from the previous closing of 171,073.73 points.

The share price of Pakistan International Airlines Holding Company Limited (PIAHCL) increased by 2.2% to Rs39.82, one day after Arif Habib Consortium paid Rs135 billion to acquire 75% of PIA’s shares.

According to PSX statistics, the benchmark KSE-100 Index closed lower than expected the day before, down 130.44 points, or 0.08 percent, to close at 171,073 points from 171,204.18 points the day before.

In contrast to the previous session’s 684.548 million shares valued at Rs 30.100 billion, the ready market had a trading volume of 650.136 million shares with a traded value of Rs 28.256 billion. The market capitalization dropped from Rs 19.435 trillion to Rs 19.396 trillion the previous day.

Of the 481 enterprises that were engaged in the ready market, 151 saw an increase, 287 had a decrease, and 43 stayed the same.
