As tensions in the Middle East rise, 64 flights from Pakistan are cancelled.

Due to the worsening situation in the Middle East, flight operations from Pakistan have been significantly hampered; on Saturday, dozens of flights were cancelled.

Five major international airports nationwide cancelled 64 two-way flights to different Middle Eastern destinations, according to airport sources. Pakistan International Airlines, Airblue, Air Arabia, Iran Air, and Qatar Airways are among the airlines impacted.

With 20 two-way flights impacted, Jinnah International Airport had the most cancellations. Among those affected were routes to Abu Dhabi, Kuwait City, Jeddah, Dammam, Sharjah, Medina, Muscat, Riyadh, Najaf, Bahrain, and Dubai.

In a similar vein, 20 two-way flights to Sharjah, Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Bahrain, Riyadh, Dammam, and Doha were canceled at Islamabad International Airport.

Six two-way flights to Dubai and Abu Dhabi were canceled at Allama Iqbal International Airport. Eight two-way flights to locations like Dubai, Doha, Sharjah, and Abu Dhabi were also halted from Bacha Khan International Airport.

Two two-way flights from Multan International Airport to Dubai were also canceled.

Air traffic has been severely disrupted by the cancellation of 2,706 flights between Pakistan and the Middle East over the last 35 days, according to airport officials.

Since aircraft operations are impacted by the region’s instability, authorities are nevertheless keeping a careful eye on the situation.
