Muhammad Asim Khan, a budding squash prodigy from Pakistan, won the World Championship Qualifying Event–Asia with an outstanding performance, guaranteeing his spot in the esteemed PSA World Championships 2026.
Asim bravely battled Malaysia’s Joachim Chuah in a thrilling five-game final, prevailing 3-2 after a fierce 82-minute struggle, according to information released by the Pakistan Squash Federation here on Saturday.
The match results, which were 11-3, 13-11, 9-11, 3-11, and 12-10, demonstrated the players’ intense rivalry and tenacity.
Asim got off to a great start, controlling the opening two games with aggressive shot-making. But Chuah pulled off an incredible comeback, winning the next two games to tie the match. In a thrilling final, Asim maintained composure to defeat his opponent in the fifth game.
Asim Khan has already formally qualified for the PSA World Championships 2026, which will take place in Giza, Egypt from May 8–16. The world’s best squash players will compete for a huge $700,000 prize pool at the massive event.
Due to their outstanding world rankings, Muhammad Ashab Irfan and Noor Zaman of Pakistan have already guaranteed their spots in the international competition.
