At Karachi airport, a PIA airplane headed for Jeddah makes an emergency landing.

A bird hit a Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) plane in midair, forcing the airline to make an emergency landing at Jinnah International Airport in Karachi on a flight from Lahore to Jeddah.

The bird strike on PIA aircraft PK-859 happened soon after takeoff, according to airline sources, seriously damaging the cockpit windshield. The pilot made the quick decision to divert the plane and made a safe landing in Karachi.

A significant portion of the 344 passengers on the flight were Umrah pilgrims. Thankfully, no injuries were recorded, and every passenger was safe. As technical experts started examining the aircraft after the mishap, the airline administration moved passengers to hotels in the area.

According to sources, the aircraft is presently undergoing maintenance and repairs, which might take up to twelve hours to finish. After engineers complete the repairs and the aircraft is cleared for airworthiness, the flight is scheduled to depart for Jeddah later tonight.
