At London’s Heathrow Airport, the first flight operated by PIA in the past six years.

The first direct flight from Islamabad to London, Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight PK-785, arrived at Heathrow Airport on Sunday, marking the end of a period of six years since the flight’s departure.
Dr. Faisal, the High Commissioner of Pakistan, together with authorities from Heathrow Airport had the pleasure of receiving the flight when it arrived in London.
Both the flags of Pakistan and the United Kingdom were flown at Heathrow Airport in London, which was decked with them. On this particular occasion, a ceremony that was both uncomplicated and respectful was also organized, and during it, a cake with a Pakistani motif was sliced.
Dr. Faisal, the High Commissioner of Pakistan, spoke at the ceremony and referred to the Pakistan International Airlines flight as a significant milestone. The flight of Pakistan International Airlines, he remarked, is the voice of Pakistanis living in the United Kingdom.
A representative from Heathrow Airport stated that the company has been working with them for seven decades, according to the spokeswoman. We extend a heartfelt welcome to PIA, as today marks the return of our long-lost buddy.
Defence Secretary Lieutenant General Muhammad Ali, British High Commissioner Jane Mariott, and Chairman of the PIA Consortium Arif Habib were the individuals who jointly cut the ribbon to officially open PIA flight PK-785 earlier in the day.
In her remarks at the ceremony, Jane Marriott expressed her satisfaction with the fact that PIA’s flights to London had been restored, describing it as a great step. In addition, she mentioned that flights departing from Karachi have to be restored as soon as possible, pointing out that there are hundreds of thousands of Pakistanis residing in the United Kingdom. The restart, she continued, is a reflection of the growing links that exist between Pakistan and the United Kingdom.
During his remarks during the ceremony, the Secretary of Defense stated that the day represents a significant milestone for Pakistan’s aviation industry. He brought attention to the fact that PIA and London have a long-standing relationship together, which has been sadly disrupted for the first six years of this century. After the connection was finally reestablished, he expressed his contentment with the situation.
Furthermore, he mentioned that Pakistan and the United Kingdom have robust commercial links, and that the resumption of flights will contribute to the further strengthening of relationships between the two countries. In addition, he expressed his gratitude to the authorities of the Civil Aviation Authority and the Private Investigator’s Agency for making this a reality.
It was stated by the Defense Secretary that the efforts of the British High Commissioner were instrumental in the restoration of PIA’s flights to London. The Defense Secretary praised the British High Commissioner for her specific interest in restoring the route.
There are anticipated to be four weekly flights between Islamabad and London that will be operated by the national flag carrier. According to a statement that was published earlier by the spokesperson for the PIA, they will be operated from Terminal 4 at Heathrow Airport.
