Azma Bukhari apologizes for providing false information on the Bhati Gate tragedy.

On X (previously Twitter), Azma Bukhari apologized and expressed her embarrassment, saying she was really upset and ashamed of the awful event. She clarified that misleading facts were initially provided by the administration in an attempt to cover faults, which were later disseminated publicly.
Regarding the Bhati Gate incident in Lahore, she stated that Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz publicly admitted her mistakes and did not attempt to conceal them. According to Azma Bukhari, the chief minister expressed grief over the event and ensured the arrest of those involved.
She added that she is personally ashamed and has asked the public for forgiveness, saying that there is no forgiveness for the loss of human life in Punjab.
Azma Bukhari added that she was ready to resign and presented the facts that the administration had given her at the time. However, she added the chief minister made it plain that the mistake was not hers.
She ended by offering prayers for everyone’s safety.
Serious questions concerning safety precautions in Lahore’s congested urban neighborhoods, especially those close to important religious and commercial centers, have been highlighted by the tragedy. Earlier, despite numerous pleadings from the victim’s family, the district government first denied the incident, but the position changed after the mother’s body was retrieved.
