Balochistan continues to experience a cold wave as the temperature falls below zero.

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), cold and dry weather persisted throughout Balochistan on Thursday morning, with temperatures in a number of cities falling to freezing or below zero degrees.

The Met Office stated that while partly overcast weather is anticipated in the northwest, severe cold conditions are likely to last across the majority of the province, especially in the northern regions.

According to government data, Quetta had a minimum temperature of – 4 degrees Celsius, while Ziarat recorded even lower temperatures of minus 5 degrees Celsius. The lowest temperature was 6 degrees Celsius in Qalat and 3 degrees Celsius in Zhob.

It was cold in other places as well. The lowest recorded temperature was 7 degrees Celsius in Sibi, 11 degrees in Turbat, and 1 degree Celsius in Nokkundi. The temperature at Chaman fell to 2 degrees Celsius.

In contrast, the coastal belt saw colder but comparatively milder weather. In Gwadar and Jiwani, the lowest recorded temperature was 9 degrees Celsius.

Residents, particularly those in colder areas, have been cautioned by the Meteorological Department to exercise caution as the cold period is predicted to persist for the next few days.
