Balochistan, KP, and Kashmir are hit by rain and snowfall, making the winter cold more severe.

Sunday’s widespread rain and snowfall in Azad Kashmir, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Balochistan greatly exacerbated the cold weather, providing respite from protracted dry spells but also creating localized difficulties.

After over 10 months, rainfall was finally observed in Balochistan, which caused temperatures to plummet throughout the region. Light morning rain brought cool, refreshing weather to Quetta and its surroundings. Cold winds followed the downpour in Chaman, Panjgur, Qalat, Loralai, Kharan, and Qila Saifullah, according to reports. Rain, however, caused trees to be uprooted and structures to collapse in several parts of the province.

The Meteorological Department predicts that northern Ziarat and the surrounding areas will have more rainfall, with snowfall most probable in the hilly areas. Over the next few days, the current weather pattern may make the colder temperatures even worse, according to experts.

Snowfall persisted in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s upper elevations, such as Mahodand, Kalam, Malam Jabba, and Gabin Jabba in the Swat Valley. While the snowstorm has brought extreme cold to the neighboring plains, it has also drawn a lot of tourists who are anxious to see the winter landscape.

Temperatures were further lowered by reports of rain in Rawalpindi and Islamabad, with light to heavy rains noted in various locations. More rain is expected in the next few days, according to the weather service.

After a protracted dry spell, districts including Haripur, Khanpur, and Ghazi saw rain, which was hailed by farmers who saw it as good for crops. The cold spell was exacerbated by light rain that was also reported in Abbottabad and the neighboring districts.

The Neelum Valley of Azad Kashmir had sporadic snowfall in the upper portions and continuous rain in the lower areas, blanketing the mountains in a thick layer of white. The local woodland fires were also put out by the rain and snow.

Authorities have urged people to take precautions and refrain from needless travel, particularly in steep and snow-bound areas.
