Bannu and Kurram Garhi grid stations are stormed by protestors opposing load shedding.

As per details, protestors stormed grid stations last night and restored supply on the closed feeders, the PESCO said.

The PESCO spokesperson said some feeders were closed for repair work, and reopening the feeders forcefully can result in losses to the company’s staff working on the sites.

The duration of loadshedding is long on the high-loss feeders, the spokesperson said.

The company further said they are taking steps for legal action against the protestors who stormed the grid station.

Ali Amin Gandapur, the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), had earlier threatened to seize control of the Peshawar Electric Supply Company’s (PESCO) office if “loadshedding isn’t reduced.”

The KP chief minister requested in a statement that the federal government lower the 22 hours of load shedding to 18 hours in order to alleviate the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Earlier, Chief Minister Gandapur criticized the federal government led by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for exorbitant electricity costs and the “worst load-shedding,” requesting that the Center settle its KP debt.
