Between June 4 and 8, PM Shehbaz Sharif will be in China.

After receiving an invitation from the Chinese government, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is set to visit China from June 4–8.

At her weekly press briefing on Friday, Mumtaz Zahra Baloch, a spokesman for the Foreign Office, made this announcement. It is the hope of the PM’s four-day tour, she said, to further cement Pakistan and China’s strong bilateral ties.

The prime minister will meet with the president of China and other important authorities at a high level while he is there. The themes that will be discussed include economic cooperation, agricultural development, and the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

PM Sharif is scheduled to meet with corporate and Chinese company leaders in addition to his political obligations. Highlighting prospects for greater trade and investment between the two countries, he is also scheduled to speak at the Pakistan-China Business Forum.

Aspects of the visit that could be used for cooperation and development include tours of the agricultural and business zones. There will likely be a number of agreements signed, which will enhance Pakistan and China’s strategic and economic alliance.
