Bilawal Bhutto characterizes the military ruling concerning Faiz Hameed as ‘historic’ in the context of tensions between PTI and the Centre.

Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari, Chairman of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), has characterized the military court’s finding against former senior officer Faiz Hameed as a historic decision, asserting that it conveys a definitive message regarding Hameed’s involvement in illicit activities.
In a media briefing in Chiniot, he remarked that more proceedings in the case are ongoing.
Bilawal Bhutto stated that the ruling highlights the illegality of Faiz Hameed’s acts, noting that Hameed would still possess options for appeal. He noted that although the verdict was substantial, the legal proceedings have not yet been finalized.
The PPP chairman stated that no formal discussions had occurred on the potential implementation of governor’s rule in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He asserted that governor’s rule is a constitutional alternative, although claimed that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) was coercing the federal government through its actions. He asserts that PTI’s political actions perpetuate circumstances that heighten tensions between the province and the central government.
Bilawal Bhutto recalled that during the PTI administration, leaders like Maryam Nawaz and Faryal Talpur were intentionally attacked. He stated that currently Imran Khan is incarcerated, characterizing the scenario as an instance of consequences manifesting. He stated that the PTI founder, during his premiership, issued threats while emboldened by power and fostered detrimental practices in politics, cultivating an atmosphere of animosity and division.
The PPP leader emphasized that the creation of a constitutional court was a significant accomplishment for his party. He stated that the outcome signifies a triumph for the PPP’s ideology and agenda, representing a crucial advancement in the nation’s legal evolution.
Bilawal Bhutto underscored that alleviating the federal government’s fiscal challenges necessitates a collaborative endeavor. He stated that the federation’s economic challenges could be resolved without diminishing provincial authority and pledged that the PPP would persist in endorsing initiatives designed to stabilize the nation’s finances. He recognized that the economic strain on the populace persists significantly.
