China and Pakistan establish agreements on agricultural research and livestock technology.

As both countries look to strengthen economic cooperation under the second phase of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), Radio Pakistan reported Thursday that China and Pakistan are signing new agreements during a recent Chinese delegation’s visit to Pakistan, increasing cooperation in livestock technology and agricultural research.

During the 2026 China-Pakistan Agriculture Investment Conference in January, Jinan Animal Husbandry Industry Craftsman College visited Pakistan and signed several cooperation papers. This collaboration comes after their visit.

“The partnership gives the development of the bilateral livestock industry a new boost, which is in line with the progress of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) 2.0,” Radio Pakistan said about Jinan Animal Husbandry sector Craftsman College’s visit to Pakistan from January 19–24.

Two important documents for collaboration were signed during the visit. With the Pak-China Joint Chamber of Commerce & Industry (PCJCCI), a Framework Agreement on Industrial and Technological Cooperation and Talent Training was reached in order to create a China-Pakistan Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Industry Technology Cooperation Center.

Standard-setting, specialized training, and technology research and development are anticipated to be the center’s main priorities.

Furthermore, a Memorandum of Understanding was inked with GO DAIRY Private Limited that covers the transfer of dairy cow breeding techniques and sheep in vitro fertilization technologies, as well as technical guidance to address production bottlenecks.

According to Radio Pakistan, an agreement was also made to collaborate on curriculum and establish a collaborative training base with the University of Veterinary & Animal Sciences (UVAS).

In order to facilitate technological localization, the report further stated that Chinese and Pakistani experts will concentrate on three areas of cooperation: dairy cow breeding, sheep in vitro fertilization, and Himalayan pink salt application. They also intend to set up a joint laboratory.
