Chinese company expresses interest in making investments in Pakistan’s e-bike and mobile phone industries
Zhu Zhaojiang, the chairman of the Chinese company Transsion Holdings, met with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday in this city. He expressed the company’s desire to increase its investment in the plant that makes mobile phones as well as in the fields of electric bikes, Fintech, modern agriculture, and cell phone manufacturing.
The prime minister, who is on a five-day official visit to China, has instructed Pakistan’s ambassador in China and the pertinent federal ministers to work with the Chinese corporation to develop a plan as soon as possible. He claimed that the current administration was offering full assistance to foreign traders and investors.
With reference to Pakistan’s abundant resources and youthful population, he also extended an invitation to Transsion Holdings to produce goods in the nation for export.
Zhu Zhaojiang briefed the prime minister about the current activities of his company in Pakistan, its exports worldwide, and its future intentions to increase investment in the country.
Approximately 5,000 Pakistani workers are employed by the business, which has already set up a mobile phone manufacturing operation in the country.
According to him, the Chinese company wanted to take a bigger stake in the mobile phone sector, which would boost Pakistani exports of mobile phones.
Ministers of State Shaza Fatima Khawaj, Abdul Aleem Khan, Jam Kamal Khan, Attaullah Tarar, Ahsan Iqbal, Muhammad Aurangzeb, Ishaq Dar, Khawaja Muhammad Asif, and Ahsan Iqbal convened, among others.
