CM Maryam Nawaz meets with the High Commissioner of Mauritius and promises to improve business relations.

During her meeting with Mansoo Krombaks, the High Commissioner of the Republic of Mauritius, on Sunday, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif reiterated her commitment to bolstering bilateral trade and economic cooperation between the two countries.

The chief minister gave the Mauritian ambassador a hearty welcome at the meeting and talked about how to strengthen business-to-business ties, encourage trade delegation exchanges, and plan joint trade shows to increase commercial engagement.

Maryam Nawaz agreed to strengthen cooperation in important areas like education, tourism, agriculture, and people-to-people contacts, emphasizing the significance of extending cooperation beyond trade. Punjab is eager to establish long-term alliances that yield reciprocal financial gains, she said.

Additionally, both parties committed to stepping up their collaboration in the areas of technology, human resource development, and halal food production. The chief minister emphasized the blue economy’s increasing global importance and stated Punjab’s willingness to provide full support for investment opportunities in the area.

Maryam Nawaz added that Punjab was committed to increasing its exports to Mauritius of pharmaceuticals, textiles, and grains because these industries have significant room for expansion in bilateral trade.

She also praised High Commissioner Mansoo Krombaks for his persistent efforts to combat drug misuse and support youth development programs, calling them essential for social progress and regional stability.
