Constitutional amendment: postponement of the federal cabinet meeting

The federal cabinet meeting to debate the 27th amendment to the constitution, which was supposed to take place today (Friday) under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, has been postponed.
The postponement of the meeting has been officially communicated to the cabinet members.
The amendment’s draft was to be discussed and approved by the cabinet.
Sources claim that the postponement’s causes have not yet been revealed. It is anticipated that the new meeting date will be revealed soon.
According to reports, the government aims to make major revisions to five important articles: 160 (3A), 191A, 213, 243, and a new article about the Constitution’s judicial reorganization.
To soothe their concerns about the proposed revisions, Prime Minister Shehbaz met with coalition partners the PPP, MQM-P, and others a day ago.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has been urged by the Muttahida Qaumi Movement Pakistan (MQM-P) to fulfill his prior pledge to empower local governments under the proposed 27th constitutional amendment.
