Dar highlights Pakistan’s dedication to interfaith harmony and pluralism.

Ishaq Dar, the foreign minister and deputy prime minister, reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to interfaith harmony, pluralism, and peaceful coexistence.
“Our diversity is a source of pride and strength,” he said in a statement on the eve of Christmas and Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah’s birthday.
His message read, “Today, as we celebrate the joyous festival of Christmas with our Christian friends worldwide and commemorate the birth anniversary of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, the Father of the Nation, this shared occasion reflects the inclusive vision and moral foundations upon which Pakistan was established.”
“Quaid-e-Azam In addition to being the mastermind behind our freedom, Muhammad Ali Jinnah was a statesman with remarkable clarity and unshakeable ideals. In his ideal world, Pakistan would be a democratic nation founded on equality, pluralism, and respect for each person’s fundamental rights, regardless of their color, religion, or origin. He unequivocally declared in his landmark speech on August 11, 1947, that the state would not discriminate against any citizen. Our Constitution and national character continue to be based on our dedication to upholding equality, religious freedom, and the rights of minorities.
As envisioned by Pakistan’s founding fathers and represented in our Constitution, Dar reaffirmed his commitment to religious freedom, equality, and pluralism while sending warm Christmas greetings to the Christian community.
“By serving the country with devotion, patriotism, and honor, Christian Fellow Citizens have made invaluable contributions to Pakistan’s development in education, healthcare, public service, and national defense,” he stated.
“Peace, compassion, sacrifice, and love for humanity are universal values that are embodied in Christmas.” All of these principles have a strong resonance with Quaid-e-Azam’s vision and Islamic beliefs.
“Let us continue Quaid-e-Azam’s message of peace and goodwill, today and always, as we celebrate Christmas and honor his legacy,” the statement added.
He expressed his sincere gratitude to Hazrat Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and wished a Merry Christmas to all Christians worldwide.
