De-escalation in Pakistan and Kuwait amid elevated tensions

Following the ongoing conflicts in the Middle East, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had a conversation with Kuwait’s Crown Prince, Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Sabah, on Monday night.
In the course of their discussion, the Prime Minister conveyed his condolences for the deaths caused by the attacks on Kuwait amid the continuing Middle East turmoil.
He reaffirmed Pakistan’s support and solidarity with the Kuwaiti people and government during this crucial period.
Amid elevated tensions that had been exacerbated by Israel’s attack on Iran and Iran’s retaliatory strikes against other brotherly Gulf countries, including Kuwait, the two leaders emphasized the urgent need for de-escalation.
The Prime Minister reiterated that Pakistan continues to call for diplomacy and urged all parties to refrain from any further actions that could exacerbate tensions and undermine the peace and security of the region, while denouncing the loss of valuable lives in the ongoing conflict and the violation of sovereignty and territorial integrity of these brotherly nations.
