Early autopsies verify that the deceased found in Karachi’s Mai Kolachi were tortured.

According to preliminary medico-legal examinations carried out at Dr. Ruth K. M. Pfau Civil Hospital in Karachi, Police Surgeon Dr. Samia Syed has confirmed that the bodies of four people found in a manhole close to Mai Kolachi Road displayed obvious evidence of torture.

After being found on Friday close to the railway crossing location, the bodies—including those of teenagers—were sent to the hospital for a post-mortem and legal procedures. All four victims’ initial autopsies were finished, according to Dr. Samia, and the results showed that the remains were several days old.

According to preliminary findings, a youngster aged about 13 to 14 years received noticeable injuries to his head, face, and neck, suggesting torture. A youngster who was thought to be around ten years old was discovered to have serious neck injuries. The head, face, and neck of a third victim—a girl between the ages of 14 and 15—also displayed evidence of torture.

In order to learn more about the fatalities, Dr. Samia also mentioned that biological samples had been taken from the bodies and sent for chemical analysis.

Deputy Inspector General (DIG) South Asad Raza indicated that the remains seemed to be between 10 and 15 days old, based on preliminary investigations.

Murad Ali Shah, the chief minister of Sindh, has acknowledged the occurrence and instructed law enforcement to go into every facet of the case and assign blame. He reaffirmed that protecting citizens’ lives and property continues to be the government’s top priority and promised that justice would be served for the impacted families.

Ziaul Hassan Lanjar, the home minister of Sindh, separately ordered officials to properly investigate the facts and motivations behind the deaths and asked the SSP Keamari for a detailed report. Additionally, he mandated that those accountable be found, apprehended right away, and subjected to legal punishment.
