Favourable weather conditions are expected in Karachi and Lahore, with further rainfall predicted.

As clouds passed across the sky and a drizzle relieved the locals, the weather in Karachi turned nice again.

Drizzled in during the early hours of the morning, adding to the lovely environment in Defence, Clifton, and Boat Basin, among other places.

Rain is predicted for the city today, with drizzle continuing into the morning and evening, according to the Met Department’s prediction. Set to commence on August 13, this is the fifth spell of the monsoon season. Sea winds are predicted to be perfectly calm despite the overcast skies and minor drizzle.

Karachi is currently 28 degrees Celsius, and it is expected to get as high as 32 degrees above that. The Met Department reports that there are 7 km/h winds coming from the south-west and 88% humidity in the air.

When the wind begins to blow throughout the city, the early morning weather in Lahore is very nice. Local authorities are taking preventative precautions because the Met Department has issued a forecast for rain today.

The Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) and the Metropolitan Corporation Lahore (MCL) have received advisories from the deputy commissioner of Lahore informing the public to stay indoors during inclement weather in order to avoid accidents.

But there’s more chance of dengue in the city now that the monsoon rains are here. Dengue is spreading, and yesterday there were reports of two new cases, which is concerning. There have also been reports of over 300 sites with standing water, which mosquitoes can use as hatching grounds.

In order to stop the disease from spreading farther, officials are advising locals to stay inside during rainy weather and to take the appropriate precautions to protect themselves against dengue.
