Fawad urges Nawaz Sharif to assist in resolving the political crisis in Pakistan.

– On Friday, former Federal Minister Fawad Chaudhry urged former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and President of the Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) to help end the nation’s political unrest.

Following his appearance in an anti-terrorism court, he spoke to the media and emphasized the necessity of political talks to resolve Pakistan’s persistent instability. He pointed out that the opposition’s lack of constructive engagement has caused the nation’s political tensions to reach a critical stage.

Fawad Chaudhry emphasized that while “guest actors” in the party—those who are not truly committed to the political cause—are refusing to take part in negotiations, the true heirs of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) are presently incarcerated.

Instead of concentrating on fixing the country’s political crisis, he criticized the administration for giving these actors—many of whom are also traveling abroad—too much flexibility.

In order to relieve political pressure, Chaudhry urged the government to free political prisoners, including well-known PTI leaders like Bushra Bibi and Dr. Yasmeen Rashid. Additionally, he proposed that Nawaz Sharif, the previous prime minister, could be instrumental in ending the political deadlock due to his vast political background.

The former minister also brought attention to the nation’s dismal economic circumstances, pointing to a recent government study that revealed 30% of people cannot afford three meals a day.

He pointed out that although expenses have increased, income levels are returning to 2015 levels, and the financial burden is being felt in a number of industries, including real estate and the salaried class, which is now subject to a 40% tax hike.

According to him, Sohail Afridi, the chief minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, is in Karachi today. To date, he has demonstrated a high level of accountability, and he need to try to foster greater understanding.
However, Fawad Chaudhry’s temporary bail has been renewed by the anti-terrorism court (ATC) till February 13.

Judge Manzoor Ali Gill of the ATC heard five instances pertaining to the violence and arson events on May 9. When Fawad Chaudhry and his attorneys came in court, the prosecution was asked to provide the case files.

Up until today, the court had granted Fawad Chaudhry, a former Federal Minister, temporary release.

Fawad Chaudhry is being prosecuted for the arson at Sherpao Bridge and the burning of a car at Jinnah House Chowk.
