Fazl convenes a party meeting on the 23rd to discuss the circumstances following the 27th Amendment.

On November 23, JUI-F Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman called a meeting of the Majlis-e-Shura to assess the state of affairs in the nation following the 27th Constitutional Amendment.
The impact of the 27th Amendment to the Constitution and other laws will be examined by the Shura. The government’s stance and seminary registration will also be covered at the conference. The participants will decide on a future plan of action after discussing the political climate of the nation.
The 27th Amendment to the Constitution had been contested by the JUI-F. Maulana Fazlur Rehman had taken a private plane from Karachi to Dubai, and then on to Bangladesh.
He went to Bangladesh for the International Khatm-e-Nabuwwat (PBUH) Conference, which was attended by spiritual leaders and religious experts from all over the world.
In an interview with the media before to his departure, he said that the government had broken its promise by incorporating previously eliminated 26th Amendment provisions into the 27th Constitutional Amendment.
