FIA arrests a father and son in a case of human smuggling

The Federal Investigation Agency has taken into custody a father and son from Madina Town who were working for a ring that smuggles people across borders.
The FIA has said that Muhammad Ahmed and his father Shahid Hameed are being charged with human smuggling.
FIA officials added that Sarob Fatima, Faizan, and travel agents Umar and Tabish are also charged in the case.
The agency that looked into the case reported that the group was selling their victims in Cambodia, Thailand, and Burma (Myanmar). “The victims used to be forced to commit online fraud and forced to work,” the FIA said.
Officials reported that the father and son who were arrested had taken $6,000 from a citizen to transfer him to Thailand.
According to the FIA, “They also took 1.8 million rupees for his return after the victim was stuck in the foreign country.”
