Flood warning for South Punjab due to rapid flooding during the Monsoon of 2024

The majority of Punjab districts are expected to be affected by the heavy rains, with Dera Ghazi Khan, Multan, and Bahawalpur divisions being particularly vulnerable to flash floods, according to a PDMA official.

Considerable rain has fallen in a number of areas in the past day, with Mangla receiving 147 mm, Mandi Bahauddin receiving 78 mm, and Jhelum receiving 76 mm. There has also been a lot of rain in other places, like Toba Tek Singh, Gujrat, and Narowal, with reports of 40 mm, 35 mm, and 24 mm, respectively.

As to the PDMA spokesperson, the current monsoon season has resulted in the deaths of 105 civilians and the injuries of 260 others because of lightning strikes, electrocution, and the collapse of decaying houses. Moreover, 89 animals have died as a consequence of the heavy rains.
