Floods strike Quetta as Pakistan’s long-awaited rain-bringing storm arrives.

The Meteorological Department said on Tuesday that a rain-bringing weather system has finally arrived in Pakistan after a protracted wait.
Up until January 2, the system is predicted to keep providing rainfall to various parts of the nation, benefitting Punjab’s cities and upper regions.
Forecasts indicate that Wednesday and Thursday could bring a lot of rain to Lahore. In January, authorities expect two to three more weather systems, which will keep the sky occupied for weeks to come.
In the meantime, flash flooding in Guldar Baghicha triggered by heavy rain in Quetta’s Chaman neighborhood damaged a number of homes and partially destroyed others. The flooding “caught them off guard,” according to the locals, who called for rapid rescue and relief efforts.
Because “it’s better to be safe than sorry,” meteorologists advised people in flood-prone areas to remain vigilant and heed official cautions throughout the current rainy season.
