Following the death of an Iranian leader, protests erupted throughout Gilgit-Baltistan.

Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was assassinated in an attack carried out by the United States and Israel, tensions have escalated in all four districts of Gilgit-Baltistan, with protests continuing in a number of locations on Sunday.

Protests are also taking place in Hunza and Nagar, while the Karakoram Highway has been closed to all motor vehicles owing to protests at several spots.

Businesses in Skardu are still closed after a shutdown strike, and wheel-jam and shutdown strikes are still going on around the region.
