Gilani and Kyrgyzstan will form a long-term strategic alliance.

Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani, the Senate’s chairman, met with Sadyr Zhaparov, the president of Kyrgyzstan, on Thursday to discuss issues of shared interest, bilateral importance, and multifaceted collaboration.
Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani has reiterated Pakistan’s steadfast dedication to establishing a long-term strategic alliance with Kyrgyzstan founded on trust, stability in the region, and a shared desire for peace and development.
The Chairman of the Senate described the CASA-1000 project as a flagship project that uses clean hydropower to connect Central and South Asia while speaking with Sadyr Zhaparov, the President of Kyrgyzstan, in Islamabad.
He added that more than 18,000 Pakistani students are presently studying in Kyrgyzstan, serving as a vital link between the two countries, and that Pakistan wants to expand its collaboration in military, counterterrorism, science, and higher education.
He also mentioned Pakistan’s wish to strengthen collaboration in higher education, scientific research, defence, and counterterrorism.
President Sadyr Zhaparov stated in his speech that Kyrgyzstan is keen to increase its economic and diplomatic ties with Pakistan. He urged for strong cooperation between pertinent organisations in both countries and underlined Kyrgyzstan’s commitment to further strengthening trade and investment ties.
He expressed optimism in the promising future of Kyrgyzstan-Pakistan relations and reiterated Kyrgyzstan’s support for Pakistan’s stance at international forums.
The meeting was also attended by Senator Kamil Ali Agha, National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, and Senate Secretary Syed Hasnain Haider.
