In a joint police and CTD operation, eight terrorists from a proscribed group were murdered.

Police and the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) carried out a joint operation in the Daraish Khel neighbourhood of Karak, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, on Tuesday, killing at least eight terrorists affiliated with a banned group.
According to Karak police spokesperson Shaukat Khan, five police officers were killed after terrorists from a banned group ambushed the police vehicle in the Gurguri region of the Karak district earlier in the day. Reinforcements were then deployed to the scene.
The extremists were pursued by Karak police and the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) in a coordinated operation. As a result, in a battle with law enforcement in the surrounding hills, eight militants were slain.
DPO Saud Khan said that the terrorists’ remains have been moved to a hospital for a post-mortem and that the identification procedure is in progress.
The blood of our martyred police officers would not go in vain, DPO Saud Khan declared, adding that police will not think twice about making any sacrifice to keep the peace. Additionally, he stated that police morale will not be weakened by cowardly behaviour.
