In Karachi, a trailer hits and kills a woman on a motorcycle.

A young female motorcyclist was fatally struck by a trailer truck in the Landhi district of Karachi, according to rescue officials on Friday.

Karachi has experienced an increase in lethal traffic collisions involving large vehicles in recent months.

The Karachi traffic police appear to have inadequately prevented deadly incidents resulting from excessive traffic, as evidenced by a November incident in which an individual was killed after being struck by a dumper on the Super Highway. ARY News said that one individual was also injured.

The Malir Police spokesman reported that the incident transpired inside the jurisdiction of Malir Cantt Police Station, near Zikriya Goth on the Super Highway, when a dumper collided with a motorcycle.

Shahid, aged forty-five, died instantly, while seventy-year-old Ghulam Nabi sustained injuries and was transported to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital by ambulance, according to the police.

The police apprehended the dumper driver and confiscated the vehicle.

The roads of Karachi are perilous, with big vehicles causing hundreds of fatalities annually, highlighting the escalating traffic congestion and inadequate safety protocols.

Within one year, hundreds of lives, including women and children, have been lost due to fatal trailer, dumper and bus accidents in Pakistan’s largest city, raising grave concerns regarding enforcement and road safety enforcement in Karachi.

Rescue officials recently reported that big vehicles had resulted in 219 fatalities in Karachi during the past 308 days, highlighting their significant peril on the city’s roadways.
