In Punjab, KP, a part of the motorway must be closed due to dense fog.

During the night of Friday and Saturday, dense fog once more covered portions of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, crippling daily life and interfering with traffic on motorways.

Road traffic flow has been severely impacted by the dense fog in a number of Punjabi and KPian cities. The Motorway M1 from Peshawar to Swabi, Motorway M2 from Thokar Niaz Baig to Chakri, Motorway M3 from Faizpur to Darkhana, Motorway M4 from Pindi Bhattian to Shershah, Motorway M11 from Mahmood Boti to Sambrial, and Motorway M14 from Daud Khel to Esa Khel have all been closed to all types of traffic, according to a Motorway spokesperson.

According to a Motorway Police representative, the closures were required to save people and property during dangerous weather.

Drivers are urged to rigorously adhere to lane discipline because authorities have cautioned that lane breaches during fog might result in serious accidents. It has been recommended that drivers use fog lights, slow down, and keep a safe distance from cars in front of them.

Travelers have been advised to choose daylight travel wherever possible. Because visibility is generally greater between 10:00 am and 6:00 pm, the Motorway Police have established safe travel times.

The public was also urged by the police to refrain from needless travel and call the Motorway helpline 130 for direction or support during disruptions caused by fog.

According to Motorway Police, in order to maintain safety and control traffic flow when weather conditions change, monitoring teams are stationed on major roads.
