In the face of pressure from the global economy, PM Shehbaz oversees the austerity and savings policy.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif ordered the creation of a plan on Saturday that prioritised savings and austerity in light of the current strains on the world economy brought on by regional conflicts.

In Lahore, he was presiding over a discussion on the nation’s economic status in light of the current global environment.

Within the next 48 hours, the prime minister was instructed to develop practical solutions for this issue.

He underlined that the plan should prioritise public relief in addition to reducing the burden on the general people.

Amidst tensions in the Middle East, Pakistan raises the price of fuel and diesel by Rs55 a litre.

In order to ensure that there is never a scarcity of petroleum products in the nation, the prime minister established a committee last week to examine the effects of the recent tensions on the world economy. The group has been developing a plan in this area.

The prime minister gave the committee instructions to work more diligently and to provide the public with straightforward, doable proposals as soon as feasible.

He instructed the ministers of finance and petroleum to visit each of the four provinces and work with the local governments to create a plan for the preservation of petroleum products and their continuous supply to the general public.

Shehbaz Sharif made it clear that any petrol station or business discovered to be engaging in stockpiling or causing fictitious shortages must be shut down right away.
