In the midst of Rawalpindi’s transit turmoil, railways add carriages.

The Pakistan Railway has chosen to add more coaches to all trains, particularly those travelling from Rawalpindi to Lahore, in order to handle the increase in passengers brought on by the shutdown of highways.
Due to the closure of key roadways, minor routes and metro bus services, Rawalpindi is experiencing significant transportation delays.
Pakistan Railways has responded by making a significant statement meant to reduce the strain on commuters.
An exceptionally high number of people have assembled at Rawalpindi Railway Station as a result of roads being blocked and public transport services being disrupted. Authorities are acting quickly as a result of the lengthy lines that passengers are experiencing at ticket desks.
Officials confirmed that trains are currently operating on time.
To promote smoother passage for travellers delayed by the ongoing road restrictions, authorities specifically said that all trains from Rawalpindi for Lahore will henceforth operate with additional capacity.
The city’s motorway, Faizabad, and the Faizabad Interchange—which has been barricaded with shipping containers—are among the several entry points that have been sealed. Dhok Kala Khan, Kuri Road, and Khanna Pul are among the other routes that are still inaccessible.
Similar closures have been made to the old airport, Waris Khan, Committee Chowk, Sixth Road, Shamsabad, Rawal Road, Shaheen Chowk, and Saddar. Additionally, the local government has prohibited large vehicles from entering Rawalpindi.
Lahore, on the other hand, has reportedly seen some improvement. Numerous routes from Bhatti Chowk to Ferozewala have been reopened by the police. Traffic has resumed after the containers that were positioned close to Shahdara and Ravi Bridge were taken out.
But the situation in Wazirabad is still tight. The Chenab Bridge has been stopped and is encircled by trenches that have been constructed, and the Chenab Toll Plaza is completely enclosed by containers.
Both regular commuters and business travellers have been negatively impacted by the restrictions, which have caused significant disruption and discomfort.
