In the money laundering case, IHC reinstates Dr. Fazeela Abbasi’s bail.

In a money laundering case involving Rs. 100,000 worth of surety bonds, the Islamabad High Court has reinstated Dr. Fazeela Abbasi’s interim bail.

A bench led by Justice Muhammad Azam Khan heard the matter and ordered the petitioner to go to the trial court for additional proceedings in addition to reinstating the interim bail.

Dr. Fazeela Abbasi and her attorney, Naeem Bukhari, came before the court during the hearing.

Hamza Ali Abbasi makes it clear that he has no involvement in his sister’s case.

Counsel Naeem Bukhari contended that although Dr. Fazeela Abbasi had attended in court three times, a three-day medical certificate had been provided on the one occasion when she was unable to do so. Her bail had been revoked in spite of this.

Following the hearing of the arguments, the court ordered the petitioner to request additional relief from the trial court and reinstated the temporary bail.

It is important to note that the FIA has filed a money laundering case against Dr. Fazeela Abbasi, claiming that although her claimed yearly income was only between Rs. 400,000 and Rs. 600,000, there was a turnover of almost Rs. 25 billion in her 22 bank accounts.
