Independence Day: An inability to ride the Azadi Train
In light of the impending Independence Day, Pakistan Railways has declared that it will not be operating its signature Azadi Train.
Due to “severe financial difficulties,” PR has opted not to organise Azadi Train for the third year in a row.
With cultural floats that represent Punjab, Sindh, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan, the special Azadi Train usually highlights the spirit and legacy of the country.
From Rawalpindi Railway Station, the train would embark on its voyage, passing via all of the nation’s significant railway stations.
The Azadi Train tradition is an annual event that Pakistan Railways organises to engage and entertain civilians, and it is vital to note this here.
