India prohibits homes with piped gas connections from accessing LPG.

Under a revised supply order, India’s Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas announced on Saturday that it has prohibited customers with piped natural gas connections from keeping, acquiring, or refilling household LPG cylinders.

Additionally, the amendment forbids government oil firms from offering LPG connections or refills to customers who already have PNG connections.

Oil ministry official Sujata Sharma stated on Friday that a few days ago, India also advised customers of liquefied petroleum gas to refrain from purchasing LPG cylinders in a panic and switch to piped natural gas whenever feasible.

Due to international shipping restrictions following the U.S.-Israeli war with Iran, which stopped trade via the Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz, India’s supplies of crude oil, LPG, and liquefied natural gas have been affected.
