International Day of Forests: The Groundbreaking Initiative by CM Punjab to Make Punjab Green
Punjab’s chief minister, Maryam Nawaz Sharif, today announced the largest tree-planting initiative in the province’s history in honor of the International Day of Forests.
The chief minister announced that more than 1.5 million saplings will be planted as part of the “plant for Pakistan” campaign, a ground-breaking initiative to turn Punjab green.
According to her, trees will be planted in the surrounding areas, in the forests, and alongside roads and canals.
Every lady, student, and citizen in Punjab has been asked to participate in the campaign by planting a sapling in line with the Chief Minister’s goal.
According to Maryam, planting a sapling is the Holy Prophet’s (PBUH) Sunnah, and we can renew the prophet’s Sunnah by doing so (PBUH).
She urged members of political and religious organizations, as well as students in schools and seminaries, to actively engage in the plantation effort.
According to her, every institution should contribute to the fight against smog and air pollution in order to create a healthy atmosphere and toxic-free air.
