Ishaq Dar talks with his Saudi and UAE counterparts about the peace process in Yemen.

Pakistan has praised Yemen’s Presidential Leadership Council’s decision to hold extensive negotiations to end the crisis in Saudi Arabia, emphasizing the importance of advancing the process in a peaceful setting.

In separate phone calls with the foreign ministers of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar expressed gratitude for their initiatives.

Pakistan welcomed the proposed comprehensive discussions in Riyadh and urged all Yemeni parties to strive towards a negotiated and political settlement in accordance with accepted principles, according to a statement released by Foreign Office spokesperson Tahir Andrabi.

Pakistan’s unwavering support for Yemen’s unity and regional security was reiterated in the statement.

According to the Foreign Office, Pakistan expects that regional efforts would contribute to the long-term restoration of peace and stability in Yemen, based on fraternal connections and the ideals of unity.

Ishaq Dar, meantime, had separate phone conversations with the foreign ministers of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates after landing in Beijing on Saturday. These conversations included a thorough discussion of the present state of affairs in the area.

According to a representative for the Foreign Office, Ishaq Dar praised the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ statement on Yemen and acknowledged everyone’s efforts to find a peaceful solution to regional problems.

In a similar vein, the foreign minister and deputy prime minister also discussed the regional situation with Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the foreign minister and deputy prime minister of the United Arab Emirates.

Both presidents acknowledged the tangible and beneficial results being attained through communication and diplomacy, and they expressed pleasure with positive achievements and an improving trend in the region.
