It says there is a second Iranian ship nine nautical miles off its coast.

Two Iranian ships are nine nautical miles from Sri Lanka’s coast, a cabinet spokesman said on Tuesday. The spokesperson also said that the second ship would be moved eventually.

On March 4, a US submarine sank an Iranian warship off the coast of Sri Lanka’s south, killing many of its crew.

The frigate IRIS Dena was named by Sri Lanka’s deputy foreign minister as the warship. He said it was on its way back to Iran from a port in eastern India.

According to the website for the drill, the Iranian ship took part in an Indian-led naval practice in the Bay of Bengal from February 18th to February 25th.
