JI declares protest in Karachi against the increasing fatalities from dumper accidents

Jamaat-e-Islami has declared a rally in Karachi today in response to the increasing fatalities resulting from accidents involving dumpers and water tankers in the city. In a media statement, JI Karachi leader Munam Zafar Khan asserted that dumpers and tankers pose a significant danger to the lives of civilians. He asserted that the increasing incidence of traffic accidents involving big vehicles has become everyday commutes a perilous endeavor for locals, compelling families to regularly grieve the loss of loved ones. Munam Zafar Khan stated that fatalities resulting from the reckless operation of dump trucks and tankers exhibit no indication of abating, while officials have neglected to guarantee public safety. He also condemned what he termed “loot and plunder” under the guise of e-challans, asserting that residents are unjustly penalized rather than addressing hazardous transportation behaviors. He declared that Jamaat-e-Islami will conduct a sit-in at Numaish Chowrangi at 5:00 pm today to protest against the lethal tanker and dumper operations, as well as the exploitation of the e-challan system. The JI chief emphasized Karachi’s declining infrastructure, stating that the city has grown progressively hazardous, with over half of its regions experiencing significant water shortages. He stated that the water crisis has further strengthened the tanker mafia, exacerbating the plight of ordinary folks. Munam Zafar Khan called for an immediate cessation of what he termed “blood-soaked tankers” and urged the authorities to provide a clean water supply via pipelines. He reiterated Jamaat-e-Islami’s commitment to the afflicted families and pledged to persist in the endeavor to safeguard citizens’ lives and property.
