JI requests that the free petrol facility for ministers and officers be removed.

Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman, the emir of Jamaat-e-Islami (JI), has requested that the government stop providing free petrol to ministers and government officials, claiming that the government is collecting roughly Rs. 120 for petrol.

The JI chairman stated in a statement released here on Saturday that government officials and ministers should no longer be eligible for free petrol. A maximum of 1300 CC automobiles should take the role of large government vehicles.

In addition to saying that the government raised the petrol duty by Rs20 in the Rs55 rise, making the charge per litre of petrol Rs105, he stated that the Rs55 increase in petrol prices is an injustice to the people.

According to Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman, the public did not receive any respite when prices dropped on the international market in recent days. He continued by noting that the middle class who ride motorcycles, workers, and students will be the most impacted by this increase.

According to him, Rs105 goes towards the charge alone, even if one litre is used every day. According to the JI chief, the government received Rs2,600 billion from the public in two years through the petrol charge.

Who is going to collect taxes from the elite? The salaried class pays taxes. To cover up its ineptitude, the government is burdening the populace. The JI head called for the immediate withdrawal of the recent rise in petroleum products since the government is collecting taxes from the population while continuing to indulge in luxury.
