Judges must uphold the rule of law: Mandokhail

Justice Jamal Khan Mandokhail of the Supreme Court has implored judges to uphold the rule of law and render judgments in alignment with the Constitution rather than personal interests.
Judges ought to exhibit audacity. Judges ought not to rationalize their misconduct or deficiencies. Justice Mandokhail stated on Saturday that they ought to uphold the rule of law and render verdicts based on legal principles rather than personal interests, bias, or external pressure.
The Supreme Court judge was speaking at a certificate-awarding event marking the end of a week-long training for civil judges and judicial magistrates from throughout Pakistan. The training occurred at the Federal Judicial Academy.
Justice Mandokhail, the principal guest at the occasion, asked judges to exercise their courage to safeguard the administration of justice. He stated that judges must honor their oath of office and consistently support the Constitution.
He urged judges to devote their whole efforts to the efficient administration of justice for the litigant populace. The Supreme Court judge stated that the public litigant is a crucial stakeholder in the justice system and expects judges to provide prompt and equitable legal resolutions.
He stated that continual learning not only enhances skills but also expands one’s comprehension and perspective of the universe. “The concept of lifelong learning is broadly acknowledged within the judiciary.” Judges acquire knowledge daily and from each new case,” he stated.
He urged the judges to acquire information from one another. He stated that young judicial officers must develop a practice of continual learning to sustain their competence, guarantee the fairness of their decisions, and protect the rule of law in an ever-evolving environment. The Supreme Court justice underscored the necessity of daring and audacity while educating the participants on exemplary moral conduct.
