Karachi is experiencing a shortage of fuel due to a strike by the Pakistan Petroleum Dealers Association (PPDA).
According to the information provided, the petrol stations in Karachi and around Pakistan were closed today at 6 AM in response to the PPDA’s request.
As per reliable sources, the distribution of petroleum products from Pakistan State Oil (PSO) and other oil marketing companies’ ports is now continuing.
Meanwhile, the Oil Tanker Owners Association has disassociated itself from the petroleum dealers’ strike. According to Shams Shahwani, the President of the Oil Tanker Owners Association, fuel is being provided to railways, airports, and power plants.
Pakistan State Oil (PSO) said on Thursday that it will guarantee the availability of petroleum products throughout the country.
PSO has verified that its supply chain is functioning at full capacity, ensuring that petrol pumps will continue to be supplied despite the strike.
A spokeswoman from PSO confirmed that there is a consistent and uninterrupted availability of petrol at fuel stations.
PSO reaffirmed its preparedness to assist the general population. The representative emphasized that PSO is consistently prepared to assist the public.
Prior to this, the negotiations between the government delegation and the All Pakistan Petroleum Dealers Association reached an impasse, as the association remained steadfast in their decision to carry out a nationwide strike on Friday.
Following the strike called by the All-Pakistan Petroleum Dealers Association, the government engaged in discussions with them. However, sources indicate that a stalemate continues to exist between the two parties.
