Lahore court agrees to keep NCCIA officials in jail for three days while they are being investigated for bribery.

A judge has signed an order for the physical remand of six officers from the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) who were detained for bribery.
Judicial Magistrate Naeem Wattoo wrote a two-page decision saying that the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) asked for more time to keep the suspects in custody. The prosecutor told the court that there was also a secondary investigation into the officers’ assets that went beyond their known income.
The FIA’s lawyer told the court that the FIR only specified Rs9 million, but the total recovery so far is more than Rs42 million.
The prosecution said that the accused are “smart and skilled people,” which is why they need a “unusual investigation method” because the case is so complicated.
The prosecutor went on to say that this is a white-collar crime and that early investigations have shown that the cops were involved in bribes in a number of ways.
The judge said that getting a lot of money back during the last three-day remand is a big deal. So, the suspects couldn’t be let go at this point.
The judge agreed to the FIA’s request for an additional three-day physical remand and ordered that the accused be brought back to court on November 3.
