Lahore is the second most polluted city in the world.

Punjab has seen an increase in air pollution, and an international environmental monitoring website has ranked Lahore as the second most polluted large city in the world. With an AIQ of 424, New Delhi, the capital of India, leads the list.
With an alarming Air Quality Index (AQI) of 329, the provincial capital is classified as “hazardous,” putting millions of people’s health at considerable risk.
In other cities in Punjab, the situation is just as bad. With an AQI of 542, which indicates severely dangerous air conditions, Faisalabad has the highest pollution levels in the province. Rawalpindi got an AQI of 352, followed by Gujranwala with 398.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s situation is identical to Punjab’s, with the AQI in Peshawar rising to 325, which is much higher than the safe thresholds established by international health standards.
Medical professionals have advised residents to wear masks, keep windows and doors closed, avoid needless travel, and check the air quality index before leaving their homes.
