Today, the Lahore High Court Bar and Lahore Bar Association announced a judicial boycott in protest of the recent price increases for petroleum products.

Lawyers will go on strike after the Lahore High Court hears urgent matters, according to spokespersons for the legal profession.

Lawyers in lower courts in Lahore will observe a total boycott today, according to President Babar Murtaza, who said that the protest is only against the increase in petroleum prices.

The Lahore High Court Bar president underlined that it is unacceptable for petroleum costs to rise.

In an effort to safeguard the public interest and maintain openness in the legal system, attorneys will not present in court.
