Malnutrition has resulted in the deaths of three additional newborns, raising the death toll to 46 in Mithi.

Three further infants succumbed to malnourishment and various ailments following food scarcity, raising the total to 46 this month.

In the past three weeks, 46 infants have succumbed to hunger and different ailments in the district headquarters of Tharparkar, with 70 youngsters still receiving treatment.

As reported by MS Civil Hospital Mithi, the three youngsters who succumbed in the past 24 hours were under one year of age.

He stated that these children were underweight and afflicted by several ailments due to cold and hunger.

The hospital’s children’s ward has a capacity of 70, although it is now treating 76 children afflicted with colds and other ailments.

Furthermore, parents of ill children assert that there is a significant deficiency of medical resources in the hospital’s pediatric intensive care unit, urging Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah to enhance health and medical services.
