Mian Mehmoodur Rashid, the leader of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), was admitted to the hospital due to health issues.
Sources claim that Mian Mehmoodur Rashid was sent to Jinnah Hospital, where a number of medical examinations are being carried out.
According to hospital sources, the PTI leader has been diagnosed with a chest infection; however, additional testing will be conducted following receipt of the medical findings.
Omar Sarfraz Cheema, the leader of the PTI, was also admitted to the hospital earlier and is still receiving treatment there.
Notably, Sarfraz Cheema and Mian Mehmoodur Rashid are both currently serving terms imposed by an anti-terrorism court in relation to the May 9 instances.
Due to health issues, Shah Mahmood Qureshi, the vice chairman of the PTI, has also been moved to the Pakistan Kidney and Liver Institute (PKLI) in Lahore.
He has been diagnosed with gallstones, and doctors are getting ready for a potential gallbladder surgery in the next few days, according to medical sources.
Qureshi has received treatment at PKLI since Tuesday, according to hospital officials. A group of experts are keeping an eye on him, and his condition has been characterized as stable and satisfactory.
Medical professionals are still evaluating Qureshi’s recuperation and should make a decision regarding the date of his surgery shortly.
