Mountaineer Murad Sadpara of Pakistan dies
On Sunday, Sadpara was hurt while on a trek to the 8,047-meter-high Broad Peak in Skardu.
After being gravely hurt in camp 1 by a stone striking his head, the mountaineer was waiting for help to arrive.
At an altitude of approximately 5,000 meters, he slid while serving as a guide for a Portuguese female climber as she reached the summit of Broad Peak.
On social media, Pakistani climber Naila Kiani made a request for assistance from the Pakistan Army in a rescue effort.
Four skilled climbers were quickly sent by the Pakistan Army to the base camp to help with the rescue effort.
Sadpara’s body has been brought to the Japanese camp, and by 2:00 PM today, it will be transferred to the base camp.
He was survived by three daughters and a son.
